w/norm op temp. engine stalls at slow speeds and stops. What is solution?

OK we're looking. More info . . . at a stop when it begins to shudder (before stalling) if trans is placed in Neutral, engine runs smoothly. ALSO, if trans is placed into Reverse, with foot on the brake or off, engine idles smoothly. What do you think now?

The engine shifts as you change gear selection, that could shift this rubber tube and change the engine idle. It would be worse if engine mounts are failing. All i can do is guess at and suggest some common problems that i have seen, your trouble may be entirely different! A scan test of the system to look at live data may reveal the cause. Scanner, not a code reader!

Since I've gotten such good direction I/m following up with what's happening now. I returned the car to repair shop that did the trans repair. Took the mechanic out for a ride - problem still existed. Discussed all ideas of what could be wrong, they checked, found nothing. Eventually they checked pressures in the transmission, somehow, and found that there were not proper pressures within. A bad valve(?). Anyway a part was ordered and hopefully I'll have the car back next week.
