What is your question?
I have had the vehicle scanned, because I was told it was a bad door sensor, and replaced the gate (both sensors) and it still does it. Scanned again and no codes came up. If I leave the vehicle unlocked it does not go off. Only if I lock all the doors with the key fob. And it always happens in about an hour from locking the vehicle. Also wondered if there was an easy way to find out of all the door and hood sensors if there was an easier way to determine what is wrong. It did say while scanned there was low voltage to the computer...but the vehicle was running and the tech didn't understand that. The door ajar light does come on when the vehicle doors are completely closed. This used to happen once in awhile, but now it is all the time, with the alarm going off.

spray wd-40 in all the door switches/latches,open and close doors several times.sounds like switch/switches stuck.
Found this helpful tidbit on this site on how to isolate the culprit door. When the ajar light is lit on the dash, simply roll down all windows, remove keys from ignition and set the alarm using the remote. After a 30 second wait reach inside through the open window, open each door using the inside handle and the horn should go off. Reset the alarm by touching the red horn button on the remote to silence the horn. Next, move to the next door. If the alarm does not sound when opening a door, that is the culprit door!! Now this test is only for the four doors. So this did work for me and the right front passenger door did not set off the alarm when opened. Maybe i am getting somewhere.
Hi rockinrhonda, Any luck with this? I have an 02 Escape. I am having the same issue as you. I lock the car with the remote and the horn goes off after about an hour. The horn does not go off when using the lock on the door. I do not see an open door indicator on the dash, nor do i see a dome light on while the horn is going off. I tried adjusting the sensitivity on the shock sensor, replaced the shock sensor and tried with the shock sensor unplugged, no difference.
I found on another site (Which I can't find now) is that you sit inside your vehicle with the doors locked. The vehicle was not running. Manually unlock one door. Now this is where I can't remember if the alarm is silent of goes off when you open the door from the inside. I think it should be silent. I tested each door...twice. Relock the vehicle and do this with each door. I could not check the tailgate. When I had the doors locked and manually unlocked the front passenger door and opened it, the alarm went off. Replaced that sensor and the problem was fixed. Again, I can't remember if the alarm goes off or is silent. Sometimes more than one sensor is bad.
my little buddy just bought two of these in the past year, 2007 Escapes.one for $700.00 and one for $500.00.they look brand new,so he got a very good deal on em.he was having the same problem with the door ajar switches sticking, waking him and neighbors up in the middle of the night.i told him to spray wd-40 on/in the door latches until it ran out the bottom of the doors,so he did.he opened and closed the doors several times and the switch(s) quit sticking now, working like they are on steroids, just gob it in there! those switches are $30.00 each at O'reilly Auto Parts for the Motorcraft Brand! he is working part time at a parts house now,so when people come in wanting to buy door ajar switches,he just tells em they don't need em and grabs his can of wd and goes out and fixes them for the folks, they love him!........................................................................................................................................................ 2006 ford escape intermittent alarm and door … www.youtube.com/watch?v=uV1r9wUy6_M
I got my problem solved. I bought this 02 Escape used and here is a little more info. As I mentioned, I never saw a dome light on or an open door indicator on my dash during an alarm event. When I locked w FOB, after about an hour, the horn would go off and the parking lights would flash. I also noticed the horn would not honk when I pressed the lock button twice on the FOB but did not think much of it. No alarms ever occurred when I locked the car with button on door. I bought a wireless OBDII scan tool and downloaded a free program called Forescan to scan my vehicle using my windows 7 laptop. The program is not the most intuitive but it works well. The vehicle stores 8 alarm events most of which were a Panic event. I started thinking more and more that I may have a bad remote that was acting like the panic button was being pressed. Here is where it got really weird. The FOB that I had with this vehicle only had 2 buttons; lock and unlock no red horn button (panic). Remember, I bought the thing used, (actually at an auction). I found and old 3 button remote, programmed it for my 2002 Escape and Problem Solved! I also noticed that with the correct remote, the horn honks when I press the lock button twice as if to arm the alarm. I am guessing with the 2 button remote, the alarm, never full sets and after a period the alarm goes off. It is very unlikely that someone else would have this same scenario as I did but the big takeaway here is that anyone can buy a $20.00 scan tool and download a free program to help trouble shoot their problems. Thanks.
No..I have done that previous. My question was how do I determine what door switch needs to be replaced. I don't want to clobber it together...I want to fix it right. Others have posted the WD-40 trick and it is only temporary from what I can tell.
