When looking at the engine. Is the positive battery terminal on the left or right?

are the cables not color coded like RED and BLACK? if not color coded,follow each cable,see where the go to,then you'll know.

Aw hell, just do like everybody else seems to do these days (according to this site) stick the battery in and throw the cables on it... Got a 50/50 chance of getting it right .. Then you can do like most of 'them' do ... Post a question asking WHY vehicle won't start and none of the electrical components are working! .. Kudos to you for at least asking first .. Smart move! .. Along with answer # 1 .. The positive cable end is a little bit bigger than the negative cable end... This is a NEGATIVE GROUND system .. Cable that's attached to a metal ground hooks up to the negative battery post! .. Positive cable goes to the starter and is 'normally' RED in color.
