Does this mean I may not need a latch? That would be great! And what is the best type of mechanic to go to, body, dealer or volvo mechanic? Thank you Sandra

Sandra,any one who is car savvy should be able to look inside the opening with the window down ,with good flashlight,and see if linkage rod is disconnected.May have to remove door trim panel to see.This will have to be done in any case.Remember,we can't see your car,just offer sugestions. This may or may not be of any help. Good luck BA.
