what would it take to put a Porsch engine into a 1971 VW Beetle standard

It's not an easy answer; Study up on it, the Porsche is quite different. The 2000 is computer controlled, and a lot modification. The wiring, fuel system, gauges, etc. Do a lot of research before you tackle this.
