and stay solid. When using the right turn signal they both work fine till you press the brake then the both turn solid. There is no problem with the driver side or left turn signal lights

Since the STOCK tail light is red for brakes and amber for signal there are two seperate bulbs, not likely a bulb problem. The brake light circuit is shorted/bleeding into the signal light circuit! Is it wired for towing a trailer?
POSS WRONG BULBS INSTALLED
this problem just started with no bulbs being replaced
poss burn't element in one bulb replace them and see what happens
Once you have checked the bulbs to be the correct ones, check the turn signal switch.
Did you ever find the answer to this? My 2000 tundra started doing the dame thing, on the drivers side...
yes
Ok, within the trailer wiring you will most likely find the problem. (most likely!) Look for any pinched /damaged wires from the truck harness out to the trl. plug. Post results, Thanks.
the wires look OK I don't use the tow light, could/should cut the 1 wire going to the harness?
You have a voltage bleed over from the brake light circuit into the signal light circuit on the pass. side! These are two seperate and independent circuits with seperate bulbs for each light, i can not see how the bulb(s) can be wrong, especially since you haven't changed them. Do the front and rear AMBER signal lights come with the RED brake lights when you apply the brakes?? Exactly which lights come on??
when the brake is pushed in both the front and rear turn signal lights come on and stay solid even when the turn signal is on and they are on the passenger side only. Also when the turn signal is on for a right hand turn the brake light on the top of the cab blinks too. When the hazard lights are on both the turn signal and brake lights flash on both sides. Thanks for your help but I think my truck is possessed
That just confirms what i have been saying about the short between the brake and signal. If pushing on the brake will illuminate the signal lights then turning on the signal lights has got to illum. the brake lights NOW where this short is that's what you or a repair shop will have to find! It is going to be at the rear light or wiring as the two circuits do not pass through a common switch or circuit. Not on this vehicle!! Good luck with this!!
thanks for all your help today and have a great Labor Day weekend
Thanks, likewise.
