to check on recalls simply call the dealer. patching is bad news because as you stated it started leaking again. if it is not on a recall list check with your local junk yards for a replacement they are not as hard to replace as you might think. and your safety is the most important thing here

New aftermarket tanks are a better replacment. Good quality more so than a used one. Patches dont work because tank expands and contract and will eventually leak again. When transfering parts to new tank be sure to tighten every screw to proper torque to prevent another leak,replace gas cap as well.
