Why does the car have plastic exhaust manifolds.

You must have a car savvy friend, have this friend show you the exhaust manifold... It is NOT plastic! .. It is the part in front of engine that will burn your hand in just a few seconds after the engine is started.. After COLD start...take hold of//touch a few things on the engine, toward the front of car...you'll find it!
