What is your question?
My service engine light was on for the catalytic converter 420 Bank 1 and emissions. I had the cats replaced and the 420 code came back on in <50 miles. The mechanic check tested the catalytic converters on both banks and everything is working correctly. Does anyone know what might be going on? I am unable to pass my smog check because of the service engine light still being on.

no,that code does not mean replace the converters.and yes, that is one of several possible causes including,02 senors, intake leak, injector problems, spark plugs, timing, ecm, etc.when the mechanic did the test,if he had the right scan tool with live data,he could have told you what was going on with your car.i can't tell you what it is,because i would be guessing, just like whoever told you to replace the converters.the only way is a good mechanic with a good scan tool.
I even took it to the dealer and they said it has to be replaced. They want to charge me $1300. Thanks for your help!
