What is your question?
The car belongs to a friend. she was driving it to work and it died leaving her stranded with no lights. i was able to get it to start and drive it home after changing the battery but it soon became clear that the alternator was not charging properly. Now this it where im at, after changing the alternator it simply will not start. the engine cranks, has spark, the pump primes but will not start. Iv checked all the fuses iv checked the battery post. There are no codes I am stumped. Anything helps Thanks.
Are there any codes setting? Just because the pump runs, that doesn't mean that the injectors are supplying fuel. I always teach techs to close their eyes, take a deep breath, and forget what has just been done to a car if a situation like this occurs. By forgetting what has been done and diagnosing it as if it was just pushed in the door they will normally go right at the problem no matter what it is. By associating the "new" problem to what they just did they could be making a false assumption and that would make it harder to figure out. HTH
Im unsure on how i can check if the injectors are working. I would have to take off the intake manifold just to get to them.
Have you reset the alarm?
Remove the spark plugs and check if wet. If not using a syringe add 5mm of fuel into each cylinder, replace plugs and try. If it fires up and stops immediately then check fuel pump. By the way have you checked the spark plugs?
I have not been able to check the spark plugs due to the intake covering up 5 of the six plugs and the sixth has very bad threads. I did however spray starter fluid into the intake and got it to turn over, it ran for about 5 seconds than died again.
And there in lies the problem. Check fuel pressure. Change all fuel filters and make sure fuel tank breathe is not blocked. Start with the fuel pipe on the inlet manifold. Then filters.
Yes i did disconnect the battery. but only on the negative side. also i have checked all fuses visually and with a digital meter and they all check out.
Let'see, the vehicle was running ok all except for an alternator problem, the you replaced that alternator and now the vechile will not run. What does that tell you??? Have a MECHANIC check this out if you can't find out what went wrong.
