Why is it thick white smoke coming out of my tailpipe?

this problem started after i put oil in my car and the next day i drove it thats when it started smoking sometimes thick or thin at times. it also hesitates like it wants to shut off but it doesnt. when i try to accelerate it it doesnt immediately the puff of smoke comes out then it starts to pick up speed. like a cough that you try to get out but cant and then it finally comes out like something is blocked.

owner!see answer #2.i saw a guy put over a 2 hour period today put 8 gallons of water in his mustang,and dogging the crap out of it,says he don't know where it's going.well i saw where alot of it was going,but he didn't care!he had a couple problems,one beeing 18 years old,and mommy and daddy bought the car,pretty new to.but really see pushrod's answer.thats the white smoke you are seeing,most likely.
I will check but I had a friend of mind look at it and he is a mechanic and because of the hesitation feeling like it wanted to cut of he said it might be I needed new spark plugs could that also cause the white smoke
Yes it was motor oil.
