What is your question?
I've looked in the trunk and the back seat, but I cannot seem to find it. I know it's supposed to be a little black box something that'd weigh about a half a pound. But the problem my car is having is my fuel pump doesn't kick on when I go to start the car. And through research I seen that it might not be the fuel pump and it could just be the module. Really hopping it's just that since it sounded easier to replace (and less expensive) then the whole fuel pump.

I don't know if you have already found out the answer to your question but I also have the same question. What you and I are both looking for is the Fuel Pump Driver Module. According to the manuals, it is behind the passenger side backrest. On my car, it is not. And those of you who don't think this exists based on knowledge of older models need to stop and actually look at a 2001 Sable manual before answering. The FPDM controls the speed of the fuel pump to maintain a constant pressure. Mercury apparently didn't bother to document where they put it, they just cut and pasted from the Taurus manual.
The fuel pump module is the fuel pump (module), in the gas tank. Not sure what you have been studying, but yours doesn't have a separate module, Just fuse, relay, and the computer engages the relay to operate the pump.
That car runs from a PCM activated circuit ground to the fuel pump relay in the battery junction box, ( behind the radiator ) which is powered by fuse 225 2amp on the left side of the dash, then then the fuse 116 20amp powers the inertia switch and on to the fuel pump ( module ). Get your facts straight before you give misinformation. Per Mitchell and experience.
Ok. I'll play along. You didn't bother to mention pertinent facts in your reply but you are telling me to get mine straight? I'll start: So you have a 2001 Mercury Sable?
I have worked on many and many other Fords. Granted they change many ways they operate. Some have a non serviceable relay in the module and have had to wire a new relay in line to bypass the non serviceable relay. The module you need is in a small metal box behind the radiator with the PCM, fuel pump, and fan relay incorporated in one module. It's not just the 01 sable that has this system.
