Very few auto 'repair' facilities have that info... Local 'salvage yard' has *ALL* the interchange information.
Pushrod is right,as always! i think 97-03 is the same, but i might be wrong.if you find one, just make sure the 8th digit of the vin# is a W and not a 6.i have seen a lot of totaled trucks on ebay with that engine in it,and you may find a local scrap/salvage yard close by also.i have that same engine in a 2000 F150,,,,312,000 miles.
It's hard to tell the difference between the W - Romeo and the 6 - Windsor engines, (sounds backwards I know) almost have to have them sitting side by side! .. Number of valve cover bolts is a tell tale..and number of flywheel bolts.. Both should have the same 'foot print' but parts transfer may be a problem on an engine swap... The 2002 could be either one, the salvage yards interchange is hard to beat when it comes to parts interchangeability.. It's pretty thorough.. They tough engines.. I DO know that much about em!
Yep W,one would think Windsor? and the two are made in two separate plants. i guess that's a good thing! Romeo Engine Plant in Romeo, Michigan.and Windsor Engine Plant in Windsor, Ontario.OK, Heels coming on,Later.
Thanks so much
