What is your question?
The abs light came on in my 2003 sl500. Took it to my mechanic. Mechanic says, mice have chewed on the wires because the wires have wheat in whatever the wires are made of. Can this possibly be true?????

Apparently some of the automakers are using wiring which is insulated with a soy byproduct. They seem to be aiming to be more 'green'. This is a very common problem and may actually be covered by your insurance. Give them a call before you spend any money on the problem.
yes, that would be true.many automakers have moved to biodegradable, soy-based wiring insulation in the past 10 years, and that is just plain stupid! If a mouse has gotten under the hood of your car, you can bet he/she will be back. and he/she WILL bring his/her friends and family next time and they are not mice, they are all grown up,big ens, believe me! there is only couple cures for this, and the best one is the first Answer from Pushrod.we have RAT PATROL in our neighborhood, from or neighbors 2 cats.my cat don't go out anymore, she's retired! get you a cat,or i'm gonna post a 5000 word story about the RATS that got in my wall at home!
