Why can't they et the "check engine light" to go off?

What is your question?

My car was in a rear end collision and the check engine light came on. The car has been fixed and the check engine light is still on. They told me that the filter needed replacing so they did that; $300 later and the check engine light is still on. Any suggestions?

What is the code for the engine light.

have them scan the codes and post so we can adv. very poss an evap leak in fuel system since car was hit in the rear.

OKay, I'm not sure how to find the codes. Do they need to tell me the codes from the computer scan or will they display in my console?
