What is your question?
Well My car 98 mazda Mx3 1.6l Dohc 16v After a huge rain Here in Greece Athens was fulled with water until the handbrake and after the rain was over i came back to look after it and i would not start me and a friend of mine we study marine engineiring started to dry it out with hot air and checked all the fuses and electric connections to be dry we tried again and the car fired up after shoting all the water from the exhaust Everything was working as if the rain never happened we took it for a spin the it was all ok BUT after parking it and tried again after four hours i started the stopped and never fired up again eversense i complitly dryed the car all the electric connections were spraid with contact cleaner but still!! Does not fire up. I will mention that all electrics work(headlights, inside, turn signals all) but i dont have power on the sparkplugs no matter what i try Also that little buzzer that tells you you forgot something on before u leave sound sooo fast like crazy which i think there is a short circuit somewhere stiill but i cant find it Any Help ?? Now the car starts but stops after 2 seconds (we suspect immobilizer kills it) and we dont have the right connector for diagnosis due to it being an old model!
I cant see How that was helpfull.....So what you are saying is....get rid of it? Cause is my only car see....i CANT!! so...do you..? or anyone has some helpfull feedback? Forget the hole fludded thing lets say that it just runs and after 2 seconds stops...any ideas?
Information is based on experience with flooded vehicles!!!!.... It's OBD II so any code reader should plug right in to retrieve trouble codes!!!.. Just trying to save you a BUNCH of work... Water intrusion WILL come back to haunt this car!! .. Again, good luck!!
And Lets say that i change my ecu complilty with a new one...Will i still have problems over my car in the late future? And is it sure its OBD 2 couse ive been told its obd 1
1995 can be either , depending on production date. No matter, keep studying marine engineering , cause if you don't want to believe at least 2 pros , who have been at this for over 30 years each AND seen many water damaged cars , well.........best of luck to you and I do say that FULLY understanding your position and frustration! We are just trying to save you from fighting a long war.Maybe try once more , going back through ALL connectors and ground connections Could be simply a 'pin' that was dry and making good contact (albeit temporarily)is now corroded again from more moisture intrusion.
It's starts out a 95 but then changes to a 1998.... It's growing!!!!!... I also understand the position that it puts one in though, damn shame it has to mess up sooo much of the electronics!!!... Maybe this one will get lucky!?!.. Hope so..
Anyway Thanks for helping after all this is the only site which answered so fast....thank for your time as well...Its not that i don believe you guys but the first comment you made..it was like me coming to you and say <<hey! ive got cancer>> and you saying ok no matter what you do you will die so give it up now and jump of a cliff....see?? i wanna fight for this car...Also my car on the pinkslip says 98' but in your site i could not find 98' mx3 so i found it as 95 and that was the change you saw....(i ve sended my ecu to an electonic to take of the immobilizer!)<--update
