After replacing spark plugs and wires, it Idles great when in park, neutral and reverse, when put into drive, truck idles great for 20-30 seconds, then surges forward hard without putting foot on gas, then shuts down. Check engine light came on after the first time it surged forward. Can not drive to get a diagnostic check done. Just started doing this 2 weeks ago.

check behind your work,wires,vacuum hoses,any connectors unplugged?
Didn't have 'this' problem until you worked on the engine?
The problem started first. I was at a red light the first time it happened.
Find a friend with a descent code reader and gather the trouble codes, post the code numbers on here for more information... That'll eliminate bunch of guess work!

Thank you, I will add this to my list of "possible could be issues" (not being sarcastic) I have been researching this issue for the past week. I have a list of 12 + Possibilities to check for now, so I'm a little overwhelmed to say the least. *Mass Airflow Sensor; Water Intrusion into a connector located under the cab, beneath the driver's seat; Distributor Shaft; Camshaft Position Shifter; EVAP emission control system; Fuel Injector; Fuel Pump; Fuel Filter; Engine Control Module; Coil pack (since I changed the plugs & wires but did not change the coil pack); transmission fluid & filter; Relays & Fuses (having a hard time with this suggestion). I am truly up for any advice and will be trying all of these. I am trying the simplest of these first, and marking them off my list as I go. It makes sense that the next simple step is to check the wires, vacuum hoses and if any connectors are unplugged. Thanks again :)
