When turned off the motor runs on roughly spluttering, for up to 20 seconds. It has 190,000 miles but runs like a dream. I am in Australia. It is a 323K p/car 1990. My daughter loves it. Cheers

"An **idle speed that is too fast** can leave the engine with too much angular momentum upon shutdown, raising the chances that the engine can turn over and burn more fuel and lock itself into a cycle of continuous running".... Check base idle rpm .. vacuum leak(s)... elevated engine temperature!!! This is usually more pronounced with a carbureted engine... Try using transmission to reduce idle rpm 'before' turning off ignition! (Auto, turn off in gear) (Stick, release clutch a bit)...This problem needs to be corrected!!!
