What is your question?
Dealer states the door was in the open position when I dropped off the car. This is not correct...they just don't want to take responsibility. Dealer wants $225 to fix. Are there instructions available to fix the problem myself?

I would need to look at the vehicle in order to determine what the problem is. There may be a simple fix but I would need to see the radio/door and I would be able to give you better advise. Please call us (847) 352-2886 and ask for Scott or Mike. We are located at 503 Lunt Ave. Schaumburg 60193. Thank you.
Greetings, Unfortunately, without seeing the vehicle, I cannot give you a proper estimate for repairs. If you could, give us a call at (312) 280-9262 (option 2) and we can discuss when you could bring the vehicle by. Or, you can just stop in at Infinitech Auto Service 1850 N Elston Ave. Chicago IL 60642. Ask for Ron. Thanks!

Just curious , but what exactly does the airbag (either passenger OR driver side) have to do with your audio unit?? I'm glad i take pictures/videos of many cars that come in for recalls!! Too many people think we owe them more , just because ........ To many people only show up to bitch about the recall on their 10 year old poorly maintained car and think we own it not them! AND they are usually the ones that ONLY come to the dealer for the free stuff. Boo-hoo........
That is my question also. The door cover on the radio worked perfectly for years. I bring in the car for the air bag recall and when bringing the car back home I discover the door won't close. The coincidence that the door becomes inoperable independent of the same time someone is taking apart the dashboard for the airbag is not believable. There most likely was some vibration caused while doing the air bag replacement that loosened a connector that operates the door cover. My Lexus SC 430 is babied. It is my toy. I only drive it in the spring / summer. It looks like new. People stop me and ask if it's new. I get offers to sell it. Of course there are many poorly maintained cars. Mine is not one of them.
the airbags are nowhere near and any 'bumping/vibration would be no different than going over a bump in the road. I think the coincidence is due to , as you put it , lack of use.
Hello Scott & Mike, thank you for your response. I was told yesterday by Bredemann customer service that the service manager would call me. Still waiting. In the meantime, I'll stop by your facility so you can take a look. Thanks again for your response. It is appreciated. John.
Feel free to stop by at any time. Thank you, Scott.
