Hydraulic lift on trunk slowly lowers during cold weather

got me a set from Ebay for the hood on my pick up for $21.50,free ship,no tax in Aug of 2014.got tired of the hood smacking me in the head.1st one i put on held the hood up,just one.put the other one on,they worked like they were on steroids,and still do! Thanks for great ideas, talked to a mechanic & he is willing to install them for me. Also found actuator for driver side lock at $32 opposed to dealer $200+/-
