Used one put on before the new one and it's still doing the same thing. I thought well maybe the used one was bad, but the new one to. I also have a new battery in it. So what do I do? Could it be an electrical problem or should I take the new one back?

don't know,you didn't say what the problem/problems were?still doing the same thing?what same things?
Just a thought (cause I didn't look it up) , but IF the alternator is CONTROLLED by the PCM , the issue may be in wiring or PCM.............just a thought.....
Check the 80amp relay under the hood in the fuse box it is I line with the alternator I just had this problem bought new batter and alternator in stead its $4 fix it screws down to the two posts
Have to charge the battery with my battery charger, can drive on it about 20 mins. If I get a jump from another car I can only drive about 2 miles. And then need another jump. Lights go dim and when I go to accelerate its like car has no power the pedal goes all the way to floor board and will barely go and then just quits on me.
i would take the new one off of the vehicle, take it to the ZONE or Advance, etc.have them check it SEVERAL TIMES on their machine, not just once, but several times, see what results are?if it's killing the battery,it ain't charging. used one could be bad, also the new one too.seen lots of times, bad right outta the box!parts house can't check alternator on the car, unless the battery has a FULL charge on it.post findings.
