What is your question?
at start up there is a clanking noise that corresponds to the rpm's (ie, louder at low idle, picks up speed with advancement of rpm) but disappears around 2,000 rpm's. It is coming from somewhere along the belt...I can't determine where the problem is exactly, though. any suggestions?

Remove the belt and start engine,if noise is now gone, check driven componets ie anything the belt turns, turn by hand, feel & listen as you spin componets for roughness or noise. If no problem found here is the trans. automatic? If so have the torque converter to flexplate bolts checked for proper torque.Good Luck.

as far as the torque converter bolts? the fluids are all good, the car doesn't burn or lose any oil
thank you...I did that this morning (took off the belt) and the noise is still there on start-up. I'm assuming that is probably not a good thing. What is my next step?
Make sure all fluids are at proper level.Have mechanic check it out. Also mention torque conver bolts(IF AUTOMATIC TRANS.) If man. trans. it doesn't have these bolts. Your mec.is your best buddy now! Good luck.
