What is your question?
As you know everyone that owns these jeeps with a sky slider has this problem, the sky slider is a big defect but they won't recall it, so we're all stuck with a sky slider that won't open, and even if you fix it, it will break again. It's very expensive to get fixed just to have it break again. I want to replace it with just a tinted sunroof that doesn't open, can this be done ?

The Sky Slider Sunroof May Not Open on Jeep Liberty The sky slider sunroof may not open. A software upgrade for the control module is available which should correct this concern. Average mileage: 62,655 (5,000–114,500) 10 model years affected: 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011..... slider sunroof went off track originally and then the whole thing went flying backwards over the rear of vehicle while driving at 60 mph. Clearly a mechanical issue to begin with resulting in a possible collision with a vehicle in the rear had the roof completely become detached. Chrysler "declines" to pay for the repairs costing more than $3,300. If anyone has suffered this same type of issue with the sky slider and is interested in joining a class action lawsuit, please send in your own words what happened to edwardsla@bellsouth.net.
Why not just have the existing window tinted to your liking, disable the circuit to the window motor and have it permanently sealed.. IF it is leaking ? .. As for your question... I'm sure you can have it modified 'any-way' you want it!
Because there IS no window to tint! That's whar he is asking. The Skyslider is a roof, not a window. The " roof " slides back to reveal an 8ft. hole. It is not like a sunroof.
Coni62: I'm curious if you tried to replace sky glider with custom made tinted glass insert. Did this method work? Was it successful in stopping leaks? If so, what was the project's total cost. Thank you in advance.
Yes I have a skyline sunroof that is defected and I can't get any help to fix it it is very unsafe and dangerous to drive.please help
I am also going through the same thing with my 2008 Jeep Liberty Sport. Recently the tracts have broken. I spent all last night taping plastic trash bags to the roof with gorilla tape. I have had this car for about a year and a half and bought it with 54,000 miles on it. I am very upset because if it wasn’t for this the car would be perfect. I am also very upset with the response I got from Jeep. Any advice would be greatly appreciated
My sister just had the same issue. Did you move forward with the class action?
