3.7 has a knock pulled valve cover and found bent intake valves and loose timing

I thought maybe I would be lucky and find the pick up in the engine pan faulty or oil pump but it's a family member so u know how that goes right....

Yep!... Had a 4.7 (basically the same engine, just 2 more cylinders) in a Durango that dropped an exhaust valve seat... Replaced the engine cheaper than repairing it would have been!... Now this was a good salvage engine... With warranty... It's going to be high dollar either way!
