'ALL' of the fuses ' TESTED' using a volt meter or test light with key on?
you asked a question April 9,2016,where Fuse #1 was,did you find it in the trunk? Fuse #1 is for the electronic cooling fan at the radiator i believe. May just be loose or need re-seating and/or cleaning of the contacts.what Pushrod is saying is to check both sides of each fuse for power with the key on with the test light.
Got fans working , was radiator thermo switch. How do you check both sides of fuse with key on? I just have a fuse tester that touches both sides of fuse and lights up on all fuses. Didn't find any fuses in trunk. Just wanted to say that Repair pal people have given me good advise so far , haven't fixed problem yet but with everyone's help I might soon . Thanks again.
like this, copy and paste, short video.......................................................................................................................................................................... Checking Fuses (Using a test light) - YouTube www.youtube.com/watch?v=ksrsXwwukFc
Watched video's but Iv'e pulled all fuses and are good so maybe the socket they plug in to could be bad?
that's why you need to check em on both sides while they are plugged in the sockets with the key on.
I'm so happy , I used a test light and found fuse for gearbox now out of limpmode. the fuse tester I have touches both sides then light came on , the tester one side was dead on fuse, Damn I love your web site thanks so much , all I have to do is put dash back together with other things and I'm good to go. If I have any other problems down the road I'll be talking with you guys. Thanks Again.. Gary.
glad you found it..lots of folks come in here and say, checked fuses, they are fine or look fine! well, they may look fine,BUT until you prove to Pushrod that they are fine checking them with a test light, then they ain't fine as you found out.as he (Pushrod) has stated over and over, you can test every fuse on a vehicle in 3-5 minutes with a CHEAP test light!)you did good, cause most won't do what you did.Pushrod will see this today probably.Happy Motoring....
We ALL do our best, sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.. However I will have to say most of the time it all depends on how the text is interpreted and ones skill level as to 'how' well it works! .. Thanks for the reply.
My mechanic said it was a fuse and that is why my 1993 XJ6 kept going into limp mode, he said it was just a fuse, and replaced it, but it went right back into limp mode. Where is the fuse for the gearbox? Please help
not with key on, but pulled all out and checked each fuse.
