call parts house and get them to look it up for both vehicles, and see if same part number.and be sure to include ENGINE SIZE,and 2wd or 4wd,CAUSE YOU DIDN'T HERE.look it up yourself on any parts place web site.but you will find,it won't work!
Be lucky to find one that will work on this vehicle even if it's for the correct year model. Suggest NAPA Power Supreme alternator... Done been there!
YES IT WILL because I did a similar retrofit with mine. (Early 95 rodeo) You will need your pulley and the plug from the donor alternator. The wiring is a little different but the main thing to match up is the letter designations from the pins I and S. As you likely know the 2001 has a 90a alternator and yours a 60 or 70 a so there is good reason to do this. If you are running a second battery get ready to eat belts.... Our accy drive wasnt meant for this kind of load thats why the 2001 has a 5 rib. For me it was worth it.
Over the many years I have been doing auto repair, I have found it to be a lot better to use TOP QUALITY parts - per APPLICATION!! .. You can mount a 'self exciting > one wire' GM alternator on anything out there if so desired ... However it's kinda impractical.... **(12/7/2015)**
