Oh! Like that thingy i got in my house that sounds like the cops are sitting in my living room! i put one of them in many moons ago, cause my home owners insurance said my yearly rate would come down, and it did.i told all my neighbors i put it in and pointed the SIREN SPEAKERS towards their houses.i changed the alarm code one time and forgot to tell wifey and one of my young-ens,they went loopy with all that noise, siren speakers inside da house too.i came home bout that time, siren blasting(they turned power off,but it had battery back-up)all my neighbors had my house surrounded with AR-15"s!!! WIFEY said profanity words at me for that,so i disconnected it!
Lol.. I bought a nice 82 Chevy Beauville van some years back.. It had this lock cylinder on the outside of the drivers fender just like the one on the door.. Neat looking gadget so while we were at the Walmart one night I decided to see what it did and turned it a time or two with the door key, hell I couldn't see that it did anything... Went inside the store and the wife said she was finished up and checked out and wanted to take her items to the van.. Well guess what that lock cylinder was for... You got it.. A damn alarm, horn blowing and lights a flashing.. I just thought to myself , what idiot done tripped their alarm, like you hear all the time these days.. Wife wasn't too happy and said some of them words to me too since she couldn't find me in sporting goods right away... That was the last time I fooled with that switch for sure! .. However I'll have to say that is the slickest setup for an add-on alarm I've ever seen.. Turn it on or off at any time with the key, that is 'IF' you ever wanted to use it! .. At one time this van was owned by a Phillip Morris executive that must have carried samples.. No wonder it had an alarm!
Heck, i leave my key in the key switch all the time. if i didn't i would lose it,and don't lock nery door! what is an alarm?
It's nothing more than just a nuisance device to worry the hell out of the 'people that own the car' !!
