as a matter of fact so do i..that's also when i bought my whirlpool washing machine, that i'm putting a clutch in tomorrow and the lid switch!.was told, why don't you buy a new one? i said why, when i can fix this one for $35.00,and if certain people would not overload it,i wouldn't have to work on it(said that to myself)!!
I gotcha.. Same thing here as far as fixing what ya got, long as can still get the parts... plus have you looked at some of that new junk in appliances out there today? .. Talk about soda cans and plastic.. They are throw away when something breaks for sure!
Yep,my neighbor just had the 3rd one replaced within 1 year, the front loader(looks like a space ship).my son bought me a MT Nat. Gas Dryer in 2004.only thing i did to it was bought a new lint catcher, until Dec. a year ago.the belt broke on it,and the aluminum motor pulley.i took that thing apart, cleaned it out real good and i replaced everything inside it that moved for $73.00,and again "why don't you just buy a new one"s--t,he gave 800 for that thing in 04? could not believe how smooth it runs now,i said there is you a new one!! i use the site called Appliance Parts Pros.com..put my model number in,it brings up all the parts with part numbers.then you know what i do,Yep u got it,E-bay.that's where i shop..
Yeah, I just fixed the clothes dryer about a month ago.. One of the rollers that supports the big drum wore out, squeaked like crazy.. Tore it down to see what it needed and got the parts from ... eBay!!! .. Bunch of help on YouTube I have found helpful over the years.. I've fixed the dish washer, heat pump, washing machine.. It ain't that big of a job if you handy with tools to start with.. Heck, growing up in the sticks, we had to fix what we had.. No where to go to get stuff fixed like it is today! .. Been fixing stuff all my life, bout to get burnt out on it though.. Just tired of doing it, plus people don't appreciate anything you do for em anymore... Act like you owe it to them! .. Just about like on here with the answers we give out for FREE.. Hey, then some of em complain about that! .. It IS entertaining at times though..
Oh yes on fixin the stuff.bout all the washers/dryers the same.may have a diff name but whirlpool,kenmore,white-rogers,maytag and more all got bout if not the same parts and or built/made the same.whirlpool bought out maytag in 06 i think.a guy a few miles from here was about the only one that sold parts for em for a long time.he has a used appliance place now plus parts and home or business service ,and well,i'll put it this way,he don't have to work anymore, but still does, bout 75,but don't look it.believe me when i say this,he is well over a millionaire! i use to call him many moons ago, tell him what it's doing,he would say XXXX is bad, come see me i got a used one, you can have it! i liked the fix over the phone thingy.OK BUT,kinda like here, fix over the net.but vehicles ain't like fixing a washer or dryer, but i think lots of people here think so. i read one a few minutes ago about the 17 year old and the mazda truck, after you told him what it was, then he comes back and says oh mechanic already done that? why not put all that's been done in the question to start with? save on typing all that stuff in.oh,and check this site out,try it on one of yours, just put model number in.got repair videos on it too

I'll have to check that site out, thanks... Well u right, can't compare cars to most anything else as far as repair work.. BIG difference there!.. I was always helping my brothers mod them old 55 Chevys and just whatever they had over the years.. Dads tractor, power unit and other equipment, I'm sure you know that kinda deal.. It turned out ok though.. Sometimes I wish, or at least I think I do, I had chosen another profession but then I guess everybody does eventually no matter what they do... Think I'll tell the kid on that truck to just let the mechanic fix it.. Catch you later.
Yeah it is... I 'recall' what they looked like way back then! .. Barely!
