MY BOYFRIEND TOLD ME TRANSMISSIONS NO LONGER HAVE BELTS. WHEN I AM DRIVING THE TRANSMISSION SOUNDS LIKE IT IS SLIPPING SOME BEFORE THE GEARS CATCH. i BELIEVE ITS THE BELTS THAT HAVE WORN . AM I RIGHT OR IS IT SOMETHING ELSE. ALSO THE RPMS DON'T GO OVER 2500. I WAS TOLD I'M OK THERE.

lots of problems on those transmissions.look to the right of this page,under problems,click on that,then click on "Check Engine Light and Transmission Won't Shift Correctly".best to take it to AAMCO for a free diagnostic scan.todays transmissions are very complex! google this Part Number: KB-599 and you will see the picture of the rebuild kit for the transmission,and hope you didn't bet BOYFRIEND any money on belts,(maybe a couple belts),because you would have lost!!!

bANDS THAT WHAT i MEANT WERE BANDS. NOT BELTS. HE SAID THEY DONT HAVE BANDS IN THEM. I TOTALLY FORGOT I SAID BANDS. WHY WOULD HE DISAGREE WITH ME. HE BOUGHT A SATURN THAT HAD NO REVERSE IN WITH MY MONEY 2 YEARS AGO. IT WAS DARK OUT AND THE GUY HANDED HIM A PINK SLIP ALONG WITH THE TITLE. ENDED UP IT WASN'T EVEN HIS NAME ON TILE OR HIS ADDRESS. HE STOLE IT FROM THE OLD COUPLE WHOSE ADDRESS WAS ON THE TITLE. I LOST 1,000.00 ON THAT CAR. COULDN'T SMOG IT. PARKED ALWAYS FACING OUT. HE CLAIMS HE IS A KNOW IT. WELL I TRUST MY FIRST INSTINCT AND FIRST HUSBAND WHOSE BEEN A MECHANIC SINCE HE WAS 16. HE'S ALMOST 6 NOW. I DON'T BOTHER TAKING HIS ADVISE ANYMORE.

No transmission belt on that car.. Only the CVT transmissions have a close facsimile of a belt.. It's more of a metallic band.. Can not feel a CVT (Continuous Variable Transmission) shift...cause it don't really have any gears !! Like a golf cart... Hyundai may use CVT in later year model hybrid cars... Little bit better mpg.

no,not transmission belt,drive belts!!..dag blame it,they steal cars in California?.and you said " BEEN A MECHANIC SINCE HE WAS 16. HE'S ALMOST 6 NOW"?? like to know how that happened?..i would like to be 6 again or 16!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I met to put 60. The zero button is missing on my laptop so if I'm in a hurry or not paying attention it doesn't type in. So sorry for that. Anyway I had to replace the solenoid canister purge valve , got that in and that seems to have solved that slipping feeling when I applied gas. My problem now is finding someone that will find my parasitic drain that draining my battery. I have the multi meter tester but the one I have is different than ericthecarguys(YOUTUBE) and I'm confused about the setting. I have a new battery now . So its just finding a willing soul that can help me . I can honestly say that everyone is a mechanic but no ones an electrician. oh hum. Hey thank you so much! I appreciate all the help I can get..
