I did as told and went to AutoZone,the code is P1457. They told me this is evap emmisions control system leak and the first thing to try is a new gas cap. $9.99 cents later and i no longer smell gas...so far! I have a friend who will turn off the check engine light tomorrow. Thanks all of you for your help. 2k worth of mechanics couldnt figure this out. i appreciate all of you for your help!

I don't remember from your original post , but do you have anything aftermarket on it (like air cleaner)? Have purge control solenoid checked - may be stuck open. Does it have an extended crank time when starting first of the day?
nothing after market at all...only genuine honda everything. changed out the gas cap, had a friend shut the light off and it hasnt come back on! No more smell of gas and I couldnt be happier. Fter thousands of dollars, a 10$ gas cap and all of you guys on the sight fixed my car! Priceless!
OMG IT WORKED!!!! The gas smell is gone and the check engine light , once turned off, has not come back on on! cant thank you all enough!!!
