What is your question?
I drove too long with gas cap lose, the service engine soon light is no now. I have fixed the gas cap problem, but need to reset the light. I attempted to use an inexpensive reader from AutoZone, but it would not communicate with the ECU. I have heard there is a fuse I can pull to reset. How do I find the correct fuse on the 2012 Accord?

If the reader cannot connect to the vehicle, and you are certain you have inserted it properly with the vehicle on and engine off, you will need to seek professional help as there may be an issue with the vehicles network (CAN)
on the older hondas it was a 7.5 AMP fuse.not sure on your newer model.look on the fuse box lid,and or refer to your owners manual for fuse position,it's listed in there for sure..on your OBD port, either a wire has been pulled out of the back of the plug or you have blown the fuse for it,if not communicating, usually it says ERROR...that code that the ZONE pulled for you don;t mean replace the gas cap, that's just one of the probable causes it could be.
I was thinking the cheap code reader would just not work with my auto. I didn't expect much for $19.
don't know why you bought a code reader..Autozone will read the codes, and now they also plug their reader into their computer system and it gives an explanation of the codes and they can print all that for you for FREE in every state except California. they are not allowed to even read your codes there now?
How were the codes retrieved in the first place to determine the gas cap was the culprit?
Well, I am assuming this was it. It first indicated that I needed to check the gas cap. I didn't. The service engine soon light then came on. This all happened within one day.
Run it by AutoZone and get the codes read for free then post them here for more help .. We'll need the exact numbers..
I tried it 2 or three times. Pretty sure I was doing it correctly. I was just thinking the cheap code reader would not work with my car.
