One mechanic says it's the alternator that I just had put in and the other mechanic who put in my alternator says it's the distributer. Any suggestions.

look to the right of this page and click on Problems, then scroll down and click on this "Oil Leak in Distributor May Cause Misfires/Loss of Power on Honda Accord" then read the problems folks are having and what fixed it.this has been a problem since 1990,and it ain't the alternator!!!
DTC P1381 Visual inspection would be recomended , to confirm more definitively , what is causing your particular symptoms. -- This is a service bulletin Honda put out in 2001 . AFFECTED VEHICLES 1998–01 Accord L4 and 1996–00 Civic A DTC P1381 [cylinder position (CYP) sensor intermittent interruption], can set if the coil shield is missing or incorrectly installed, or if the ignition coil is bad. To diagnose this problem, remove the distributor cap and make sure the coil shield is installed as shown. If the coil shield is installed properly, continue with normal troubleshooting.
