I have a 98 gmc safari van.
What is your question?
When I turn the key to start it, it's not until after I release the key that it wants to start. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Yes. I turn the key half way, count to 5 and it'll start up but not all the time. If I then let it sit for 1/2 hr. 9 out of 10 times it'll start.

It's got to be tested at the time it will NOT start ... This requires equipment and auto repair skills beyond diy!! No magic button here..sorry.

Thank you for your response. I realize it has to go to a mechanic but does anyone out there know where the problem lies?
