? bad wiper switch?
I find at the shop that the motors give MUCH more problems than the switches! So much so, you may want to do some research to see if GM is doing anything about this, i do not know. Post results so others may benefit.
The wiper switch has the resistors that control the voltage to the wiper motor. The wiper motor sounds like it's getting high voltage all the time. Will the wipers shut off with the switch?, If not the motor could be getting power from a bad circuit or short. Would take it to someone to have it tested before spending money on trial and error.
The wipers will not shut off at all, only if I turn switch off or pull the fuse. Just started doing it yesterday, this morning was off then 3 quick swipes a couple times then stayed on.
If you know how to remove covers from steering column, unplug multifunction switch and see if they stop wiping. If not it is shorted some where else. seek professional help. If they stop replace the multifunction switch. Seek professional help if steering wheel is to be removed, Clock springs cost $$$$.
It's not the switch, had it all un plugged and wipers still ran.
Was the problem the motor itself or connector?
MOTOR!!!!
I got very lucky, it was the connector not making good contact.
