Correct PCM (new or from salvage yard?). Is trans going into overdrive and torque converter lock-up functioning? Just some things to look for , to get started diag.
Scanner ..live transmission data ..can see what transmission is doing .. That's too many revs vs mph!!
Yup , it'll burn some green jelly!!---...347,000 on sunday.
good question..my firestone mech got it aftermarket re-mfg.$400. also replaced park neutral drive lock out. have never had any rev issues before. cars runs like a demon now...like new but i never remember it revin this hi.i'm not sure bout torque conv. dont seem to feel overdrive. also,i have a 10 mile freeway commute. any potential dangers here or just reduced fuel consumption. absolutely dont want to damage my car. have been very proactive with maintainence. is the pcm adjustable to fix this problem. seriously desperate
Answer #2 100%.... NEED to SCAN & monitor live trans data to verify and find the CAUSE. MAY be an unplugged connector or bad connection/wire , but without knowing input/output signals , can't tell for sure. best to get it fixed! High rpms won't necessarily damage engine , but unless you know EXACTLY why the trans isn't working right , you just might be dooming it quicker.
