Why do my drivers side front wheel studs keep breaking off while driving?

About a year ago I put aftermarket aluminum wheels on. That was around the same time when I broke off 3 of the 5 studs while going around a sharp corner. My boyfriend replaced them with the only thing we had at the time (only running vehicle)- reused from my Thunderbird. I kept the aftermarket wheels on until about a month ago when I had my second incident while a parking lot- and broke 4 of the 5 studs at once. Luckily I was not on the road- I even had one of my sons with me. When replacing that last group we wondered how we could have missed- or maybe it just occurred over a short period-the inside of the wheel being bored out causing a sloppy fit. So we then returned to Ford stock steel wheels. I put less than 100 miles on it all the while noticing a vibration/shimmy when cornering that continued to get worse the more it was driven. It was pinpointed to the drivers front. I thought maybe the wheel on that side was slightly bent then so I asked my boyfriend to switch sides with the wheels. The vibration that seemed to almost always be there had subsided along with the humming noise in the front end when we had a nice used set of tires placed on those first aluminum wheels after my first loss of 4 of the 5 studs. After we had those tires moved on the factory steel wheels the noise was slightly noticeable again. Then after my idea to switch sides with the wheels to help pinpoint the problem the noise was noticeably loader with each drive. Tonight we drove to the local store just a mile and a half away and I didn't want to go over 40 mph. The vibration was terrible, there was a popping of some sort in the front drivers side wheel area at low speeds (5 mph?), creaking and groaning along with the humming in the front end. I know I need to replace my front and rear shocks/struts soon since they are original and I have about 138,000 miles on it now. I am only the second owner- the first being my Grandparents. I have also gone through about 4 wheel bearings in the front end in the last 2 years. Any ideas or suggestions? I don't have very much money to invest but have "mechanic-y" friends who are pretty good that can help.

Really the front end needs to checked. The aluminum wheels are usually thicker at the studs and the style of nuts are important, but the vibration and noises bother me. If the bearing or bushings are bad it could allow the tire or wheel dip under causing the pressure at the studs to increase to a point the manufacturer has not designed.
