I have single exhaust on my mustang and want dual exhaust with flowmaster 40, but I don't want to five hundred dollars to do it if I can avoid it. What id like to know is if it would restrict flow if I had a y pipe come off the pipe just behind the axle then bring it back around the gas tank between it and the bumper using a 90 to make the turn then another 90 to make the turn out the back. that's two 90s and a y. and bad would flow be restricted to that side?

Restriction won't be a problem but it's not going to help anything unless you do the cat back kit!!
WASTE OF MONEY AS STATED
Ok but why is it s waste of money.
First off why spend the $$$ on a 2000 4 cylinder anyway ? What's the reason for dual exhausting it anyway? Looking for more Horsepower? I put a set of shorty headers and a Catback exhaust with a custom made x pipe w flowmaster mufflers dueled off to a replaced rear bumper from a GT also put Airaidcold air intake w a number of other things to boost HP….
because its not a four cylinder its a v6, ive never even seen a four cylinder 2000 mustang. for some dumb reason the site wouldn't let me change it because my mustang is a base model and the site is determined that the base model only has a 4 cylinder. I cant justify paying the 700 they want to put true duals on it because the car is only worth 2000. I want the look of the duals though and the sound (i know it wont be the true dual sound ut as close to the sound as im going to get for the amount of money I want to spend)
Why wouldn't it help anything? of course ill replace the stock muffler with a flowmaster, didn't put that part in there.
Take the car to a custom muffler and pipe shop and get an estimate on running two intermediate pipes, two mufflers and two tail pipes!.. Then the lower rear bumper or facia needs to be replaced so it looks like it supposed to!!.. You ain't accomplishing a damn thing by changing the muffler and two tail pipes!... You still got the restriction in front of the muffler... I know we just fixed one a few days ago.... Got emissions testing there???.. PS: if you just want it to LOOK like its got dual exhaust, go for it!
I know ill still have the restriction in front of the muffler. Im not necessarily trying to accomplish eliminating that especially after I found out that a shop wants between 4 and 5 hundred to do true duals. That's a good chunk of what I bought the car for and dual exhaust isn't worth that much to me on it. If it was a much newer one I wouldn't be here I just cant justify that much money on exhaust on this car. Im trying to accomplish the sound of a flowmaster and the looks of duals. im worried that 2 90s will cause little flow to the passenger pipe and make it look like a dummy pipe when its cold outside. and no emission testing here thank god. if itll still flow fine on that side then im happy
