I have water being forced out of the reservoir even when the cap is off.

What is your question?

I have replaced the engine, the intake manifold, the water pump, the thermostat, the radiator, and the upper radiator hose. There was a mixture of oil in the reservoir until we replaced the intake manifold. What else is left to cause the problem? The car has not been overheated. Any thoughts?

thats new info. nothing stated as to being new. start with leak down test anyway to rule it out. how did you bleed the cooling system?? Roy

Sorry, I thought replaced engine indicated new. My mistake. I have someone else working on the car and he is stumped. I will give him this information and see where we are. Thanks!

Is pressure building in the cooling system immediately upon starting or is it gradual? If it is immediate then as already stated the 'new' (re-man? & from where?) may have a cracked head or block. Was it a short-block or long-block and did you personally do the install? (I ask that , because many people state 'I have replaced---' when they really mean they had a shop do the work-they just did the hard part---paying for it.)The more specific the info , the more we can help.

It is immediate. It is a re-man from Advanced Auto. It is long-block and was installed by someone else. He is a qualified mechanic but is stumped. This has been a frustrating road that began 6 weeks ago. I am looking for anything that can help us move forward and get my car back to me running properly. Thanks!

KEEP ALL OF YOUR RECEIPTS!!!!!! The last long-block I reluctantly installed for a customer, years ago, was from advance. I warned them amd also told them they were going to pay extra. I was very glad I told them up-front , because the engine ended up having a crack in the block-- COVERED OVER WITH BONDO & PAINT! PLEASE PREPARE YOURSELF and have the diagnostics done - keeping in mind not to do (or have done) anything that would void the warranty. Good luck , for your sake (& sanity) I hope we're wrong.

COMBUSTION LEAK TEST WITH THE BLUE DYE THAT TURNS YELLOW AT THE PRESENCE OF CO. ANY REPAIR SHOP SHOULD BE ABLE TO DO THIS. OR BORROW A TEST KIT AND DO IT YOURSELF. IF THE DYE TURNS YELLOW SEND THE ENGINE BACK!! IT HAS AN INTERNAL PROBLEM. NO WAY H2O PUMP IS TURNING THE WRONG WAY? OR SOMETHING CRAZY LIKE WRONG IMPELLER ON PUMP.

it depends how forceful the water is escaping. some is normal due to coolant agitation from the water pump and the heating of the coolant. If it is gushing i would check for belt being routed properly and thermostat being installed correctly. oil in the cooling system make the radiator operate inefficiently. I always recommend radiator replacement with an engine
