What is your question?
Sometimes I can wiggle it backwards then forward and it will turn to start. Sometimes it doesn't.

Sounds like the ign lock cylinder is worn, Can be replaced with a new lock cylinder from the parts store. Very easy to replace, before it locks completely.
Well, I get no.1 but no.2 huh? shes 12 years old and mostly highway miles so at 107,000 I'd think she had'nt been off'n on too many times? I did try a squirt of the newer WD-40 stuff called, oops I forgot but its a loosener,, The key goes back and forth easier but......for how long now? by back n forth I meant turning as if to start..
Go down to parts store and get a replacement not very much $. Very easy to replace, small punch in hole at bottom with key on and remove old lock and install new one.
I agree! That is the only way to fix it, 2 minuet job! Just do it before it locks up in the off position!! Then it gets tough to change the lock cyl. If tilt wheel, may be another problem (actuator rack) but start with the lock cyl.
Yep just like team work, Hot Air.
You ever replaced on of those broken actuator racks that the lock cyl pinion gear turns in the tilt columns? Switch rod hooks to it. That is a fun little job. That usually results in no start though, key just wont turn far enough to start. I know a short cut so the mass jacket doesn't have to come off. You may know already.
10-4 good buddy.
