What needs to be replaced or fixed when the rear differential starts to leak?

Depends on where the leak is! Is it in the center of diff.? At the left or right wheel? Damaged differential maybe? Limited slip? (makes a difference in price) Really hard to even give you a guesstimate! Have a mechanic take a look. And i agree with P.G.
