Hi, check your coolant level by removing the radiator cap while the engine is cold. Does the temperature gage come up slowly or does it take a long time to get to half way?
Ford uses a variety of controls depending on the trim level from manual to fully automatic controls. Most use in the early 90s used a combination of cables and vacuum to change HVAC settings. These also have been found to have restricted heater cores and occasionally more than one problem. I vacuum system and not obvious problem most well equipped will use a emission system smoke machine to find leaking actuators, hoses or controllers. Occasionally clips, arms or doors, some inside HVAC air housing box can also come apart, jamb or break, from insects/rodents, debris put in vents/dash defroster that fall in. Newer fully automatic systems and a few older use electric motors instead of stiff wire cables or vacuum actuators, If you have not found cause or need help correcting and would like a$10 a day rental vehicle while yours is being repaired please call Roy 757-456-0722
The temp guage doesn't move at all. Could the reason for no heat be a clogged line at the sending unit? Or a bad sending unit ?
