What is your question?
My Explorer was riding a little rough and the dealer's mechanic says that I have to replace the upper control arm and the upper ball joint. There is nothing wrong with the control arm as far as we know. Also, they had to drive around and around to diagnose the problem.

Thing is by the time labor is added for extra time to replace just the ball joint it's not much difference in price... Now that's parts from NAPA online and what 'most' alignment shops should tell you!.. Plus you'll get new bushings that way as well... Take it to an independent alignment shop and have it checked!
common problem on these fords,it will start squeeking in the front if not already.thats the way to go upper, whole control arm, with joints, lower just the ball joints.see answer #1.also get away from dealer, and make sure they have grease fittings.
