haynes repair manual.part number 36025.as long as it is not a sport trac model.$29.99 plus tax at the Zone.
i think he is going to replace, either the power point or the cig. lighter socket.one is missing.if it's like the f150,they are side by side.one is for lighter, and one is for chargers, etc.i think you have to remove dash panels,and/or get it from underneath.
cheapo Explorer, only had one 'point' no lighter [ok I don't smoke] but I hqve no power point front or back. I was in hopes just removing guts of center "glove box" would get me into the empty hole [where the power point connector] was. It was broken out alredy when I acquired the truck. I can't even power a GPS. There doesn't seem to have ever been one in the rear seat area. I did something kinda' smart...bought the Ford service manual on a DVD from EBay. I do like the Haynes manuals, have one for the Volvo and one for the El Camino [1965] although as close as I could get was for 1969. With all the amateur DIY since I was 16, I have a chill ever considering the timing chains on that Explorer. That's why I made the quip, "When a chain finally breaks, I'll call Pick a Park". Other than that I would be sorry to see the Explorer go away...very comfortable, otherwise reliable car. 205000, starts on first turn of key, only other thing I have replaced was the hood struts. Clean, dent free, still shiny white.
