is there any recalls on the gauge that make it jump all over the place ?
What is your question?
It usually only happens when you hit the brakes or stop. What will cause this? I have had it checked by a mechanic and he says there is no reason for it.

The oil pressure gauge, levels are fine, no sign of leaks, no smoke or smell of burning oil.
