*IF it will still turn on*.... Look in the owners manual, most likely needs pass code entered to reset after loosing battery power...
i just went thru the same thing 6 months ago on my 2000 f150 factory ford radio/cd player.if its not the fuse or what you said, pushrod.its like the famous ford odometer black out.i took mine out so many times it was unreal.i would be going down the road, and music would start playing.go down road, everything just black out, didnt matter if hit bump or sitting in driveway,on off,on,off.its a cold solder joint in the face plate, very small board, with very small traces.i ordered a used one just like mine from e-bay $60.00.pluged it in and working since.now the 04 could be like you said,if its coming on a needing code, mine was not, plug and play.hope they get-er-working.
Yeah, I'll tinker with my own but usually for a customer before doing a LOT of work... just replace the old factory stereo with an upgrade from Crutchfields.. If not real careful, spend more on the old one than can replace it for! (Crutchfields... Only place to go for this stuff!)
thats why e-bay.some wanted $120.00 to fix,and me pay shipping.hope they reply back,if fixed or not.they posted same question 2 times.see-ya
You'll find a BUNCH never reply back here.. A lot of the time they take the info we give em and fix the problem but are not considerate enought to at least reply, much less say thanks!.. Then there are a BUNCH that can't figure out how to use an adjustable wrench, so it's moot to start with!!
for free, too.i"ve seen where you and zip have saved alot of people $$$$$$$$,if they dont come back, likely got it fixed,if they do come back, want more info, and your time.
Lol....true...true.. It's entertaining at times though,, keep up the good work!
Did you ever find out the problem, or how to resolve it? Me and my husband recently experienced this, and are leaving on a 13hour road trip with 5 kids. I would love if you could share.
we don't know if they got it fixed or not, they won't reply back.what is yours doing, and what type vehicle?
It is a 2004 Ford Expedition. My battery kept dying due to the back windsheild wiper trying to go while my car was off, which we still have not got fixed, just disconnected it. I tried jumping the Ex and had the jumper cables on wrong to the Ex and now the radio, and DVD player will not go on at all. We checked all of the fuses, and even changed the relay fuse for the radio, and windows. The windows are now rolling up faster, but still no DVD or radio.
never good to hook up jumper cables backwards.or a new battery, which i see a lot of.check the fuses again.you have one that stays hot all the time to keep from losing presets, and one that is switched, power when the ignition switch is turned on.
I don't know what I'm looking for. I checked the fuses twice, and they are all fine. I know my husband was mad when I told him I hooked them up backwards.
someone posted this question 2 times.someone replied on the other question the fuse locations to check.
Yes and we check fuse inside car but i wonder if its under the hood
someone else just sent you a link to where your fuse is.
Thanks but I haven't got it
you have 2 different questions about the same thing, check the first question, his answer is there.
