Checked spark using tester at plug good spark Checked for broken timing belt- cranked engine over saw valve springs operating Sprayed starting fluid before throttle body, didn't attempt to start Checked fuses, nothing blown or dis colored Checked all harness and wires didn't find anything loose Plugs and wires replaced in Dec. Timing belt has about 60 k Car stalled after getting gas at 60 mph heard unusual sound before stalling, sounded like an arcing started losing power before it stalled. No alarms Check engine light comes on with all other warning lights when turned to on position. Did notice gas consumption dropped from 30-31 to 27-28 last few days Suspected from running AC. No problems with A/C or cooling fans

If,,IF you have sufficient spark and fuel with no start..... it IS out of time!!.... Belt has slipped... Most likely..... Low/no compression for sure, it seems to me!
This has been recently happening to me because the plug that goes into the distributor gets loose because the pieces that hold the plug in broke off. I was literally stalling about every block, and i would get out and push it back in (although it didnt feel loose) and move the wires a little bit and it would start back up everytime. I know this is an old post but thought I would add my 2 cents! It was happening while driving.
I'm leaning towards agreeing, however I didn't get any back firing or sputtering when cranking over. It did sound a little unusual at times when cranking like when it's out of timing.
check the compression , or pull the covers off and VERIFY the t-belt is still in time.
thanks gents that's my next move
