What is your question?
My son bought a 1995 ford escort with a 1.9 engine about a week ago, very clean and ran great. All it needed was some dash bulbs replaced, heater lingage hooked back up and I had to pull the manual shifter back up level with the floor. I went to pull it our of my garage and and it was strange, I had the key turned forward not in start position pushed the clutch in and it tried to start. Once I did start it and pushed the clutch a little past half way it sounded like it was grinding. Any way the starter went bad replace it and now it will not startor even turn over. Like I said I replaced the starter, jumped the safety switch on the clutch checked the ignition and the battery and Altenator are good. This is making me so mad. PS: the ignition wire to the starter selonoid is not getting power but the hot wire is hot all the time. Note: I hear the fuel pump come on and all the dash lights come on but no click, not turn over nothing.

Check starter relay under the hood. Any power at the saftey (CLUTCH) switch when turning key to start? If not could be ignition sw. If power is present problem is after that point! Start checking under hood. If you (carefully) jumper batt. pos. to small wire at starter will the starter turn?
have you checked fuses yet.also sounds as if you may have a bad (sticking) ignition switch.
Pulled the switch off the back and tried it with a screw driver and nothing, not even a click.
maybe your engine is locked...
Nope because I can manually turn it over, now problem. the starter is brand new and I can jump it to make it turn over, never stayed on it to see if it would start because I did not want to mess it up. I also jumped the neutral safety switch and nothing so I'm told that it is not that. I have checked all the fuses both inside and out and they are all good. Parts store list starter relay along with ignition relay but some people stated that there is none on a 1995 they are built into the ignition itself? I looked all around the engine and see no relays. Just blows my mind because the car has been taken care of and started up and ran great when we bought it last week.
Check your ignition control module. Most of the time it is located on the driver side between the strut and the fuse relay box. When you turn your key on it gives power to everything including starter all the way to your crankshaft sensor.
I checked all the fuses in the car and under the hood. I went on advanced auto website to see if they carry a ignition or starter relay and they do but some people have stated that there is not one it is built into the ignition. I know it is not the engine because it turns over I mean with a 1/2 drive, the starter because I just bought it and because I can jump it and it will turn over. I also jumped the neutral safety switch and it did nothing, was told that if it started by doing this than this is my probelm. The battery is good along with I even tried jumpers from my van that has two big batteries and nothing. Note I also removed the switch from the ignition and turned it with a screw driver and nothing, not even a click just the lights all come on along with I hear the fuel pump. Thanks
Good luck with it!.
