code showing# 6 cylinder misfire

the service mgr told me that the engine mechanic will be in on thursday to tear off the head, but i was there when they read the code today and he automatically advise it as needing a new head. Im very skeptical because after reading on line I found out that it could also be the TPS, EGR, Injector, Coil,or many other things, It only happen on acceleration when getting on the on ramp of the interstate, does not happen on level road under same acceleration. Help

Take it to another mechanic for a second opinion!! Many possible causes for a misfire/code. Least of which would be the head !! However that is possible! Maybe ask why it needs a cylinder head... then let us know.
