What is your question?
1 of them is broken and can't find where they go. Car won't start after a idiot towed it with a strap and obviously broke one off. Could this prevent it from giving me no fire to start? I have been trying to figure this out for 8 weeks. wow

yes it will.dont know where it was attached, but needs to be hooked back up.just look for it or find a screw on the engine block and clean it up and attach it.or if it is attached to the block, find a screw close by and clean it up and attach it,maybe firewall or down under fender?
Just courious, why did it need a tow to start with?
It had at point just stopped. I thought I was out of gas as gas guage did not work. The deal is I had been driving it this way for awhile and wierd things were happening. Like radio going off and gas gauge and fan motor sometimes running way faster then it should. I figure the motor mount was broken and when I would step on it I could picture it tugging at a ground. So maybe I did it but couldn't think of why as I was just driving down the street. Actually the idiot I was talking about is me. Geez, sure hate to admit that. Does this ring any bells? Thank You for asking.
Oh well I never done nothing like that!!!.. I did make a mistake once, for about 15 seconds, I thought I was wrong!! .. The other answers seem to have something there!!
Thats a great reply pushrod. If you think of anything else let me know. Thanks, Kent
Replace the failed ignition switch , especially if some of the 'wierd electrical problems' you experience , where trans downshifting and or randomly going into 'limp' mode. BEEN THERE DONE THAT. (Including the Idiot part!) Welcome to the club. Good luck.
No kidding. You really think it is the ignition switch? You done that. Is that how yours was reacting? And what about the cable straps with one being off from both ends. Do they play into it or not? Turns over great. Have fuel. Presure tested ok. No spark. Let me know what you think. Oh yeh, and Thank You for responding and Thanks for letting me in the club. The idiot part was the initiation was it? No goats involved? Thanks, Kent
no he is not kidding,or he would not have suggested it.you know what he is talking about, the electrical part, not the key cylinder.its on the lower part of the steering column,$32.00 at the zone.do you know how to get to it?little bit of work to get to.here is a link, just in case.copy and paste the link. 1997 Dodge Intrepid: ignition switch..crank … www.justanswer.com › Dodge i sent you the wrong link, but look at that one to,here is the other link. Thank You a bunch. I will have to check it out. Sounds like a great site and your info is great. Thanks, Kent
Hope I'm in the right direction , SLOWLY , with a good flashlight , go over ALL harness routing and connections also, including unplugging and simply plugging back in , in case a little corrosion was causing a big problem.Simple stall and no-spark , could very well simply be crank sensor. BUT , that would not explain the other electrical quirks.
Thank You very much for responding ziptie12. It is people like you that makes life much better for all of us. Kent
Thank You. I really appreciate your taking the time to answer. However I need to know where the straps are attached to something. Actually I just have a piece of strap as it is torn off both the frame and whatever it is connected to. Their are 2 connected to ground at the same location. 1 goes toward firewall and up to something. Maybe control module as a guess and the other goes to someplace that I haven't figured out. That one, that is in one piece is acutally torn off at the frame where the two are attached as a piece of it is still attached. However it is the other end that I can not find. Any help? Thanks Too make things worse the car is in the street and I can't get under it so I am doing all the looking by way of my finger tips. I'm sure you are familiar with that line of sight.
