Also , to verify (and prove to you) that the symptom is normal , ask the dealer to let you test drive another car(same trim/drivetrain) to see that it also makes the noise. IF it does not make the same noise , question the dealer again.
Have the dealer check it out!!..... It's NEW, plus... Too many possibilities to venture a guess!
Hot gear oil will not cause the knock. Curious; how did you measure the gear oil temperature? I assume something's loose or damaged and moving. Make sure you don't have anything in the car or trunk that could be moving around including the spare tire and tools then try another dealer, I seriously doubt it's normal. If they say it is then test drive another one to confirm. A large percentage of the noises I diagnose on peoples cars turn out to be their stuff in the car moving and hitting something, I've found things from bowling balls to flashlights and occasionally seatbelt buckles or other parts of the car making noises that went undiagnosed or misdiagnosed at shops.
i can see the oil Temperature in the small LCD in the dashboard , between the RPM and Speed instrument .
That's probably engine or transmission oil temp, I highly doubt it's got a temp sensor in the differential.
The dealer said it 'was normal' .. I still say LET THE DEALER PROVE IT! Back to my first response.
Yeah.... No brainier... Let the dealer fix it whatever it is!!!.... Or prove its 'normal'...!
Welllll....a little brain would help.......At least that's what the guys at work keep tellin me!
I went to the dealer and he said it's normal.. But I think I found the problem. I live in very hot city the temperature it's around 45 degree centigrade . IWhen the gear oil get hot over 85 degrees centigrade I hear that knock. WWhen it's below I don't hear it. SSo I think I need gear oil cooler. Is there good one for my car, I don't want Universal. Thanks
Well that's interesting!.... I live in Franklin County VA...... Never heard of that problem here! ... Ask the dealer!
